How to Avoid Frozen Pipes This Winter Season

  • Heat and insulate exterior walls and crawl spaces where piping is present

  • Do not open windows or doors for extended periods of time during winter months

  • Ensure proper heating of areas that are repeatedly exposed to cold temperatures. Example: Parking garages, garbage rooms.

  • Communicate with your residents. Send out notices in advance of the winter season advising residents to report interruptions in heat service, any changes in water flow, and to keep windows closed.
