Committee Report

December, 2007
Robert Simpson, Chair

In light of the successful launch of the Caretaker Certificate program being offered at Red River Community College (RRCC), the PPMA Education Committee is investigating future continuing education courses which will be discussed at the January 2008 Education Committee meeting. Those courses will be presented via a number of agencies, including PPMA.

The RTB and RRCC will be offering courses that will grant required continuing education credits. The PPMA Suite Living Trade Show 2008 has all education seminars set with all sessions being sponsored by PPMA member firms and one presenter yet to be confirmed. This is going to be an excellent series to attend. Be sure to register once the trade show forms are finalized and distributed to the PPMA membership.

Some feed back has been received on the Workplace Safety & Health Manual seminar presented in October 2007. The initial portion was well done but the second part left some attendees a bit disappointed since the power point presentation crashed. The attendees expressed that the seminar would be best suited to those individuals responsible for producing the manuals for their respective companies.

If you haven’t started your manuals, you can download the template from the PPMA website at www.ppmamanitoba.com. The manual can be found in the “PPMA Member Area”. Remember, you have to customize the template to fit your companies particular needs.
