Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) annual Rental Market Survey
will be conducted this year from October 1st to the 15th, 2004. With over
250,000 rental units surveyed, this is the most comprehensive rental market
survey conducted in Canada.
Your participation in this survey is not only encouraged, but relied upon to
ensure our data is reliable and provides the best picture of the state of the
rental market; an important component of the overall housing sector.
New to Manitoba this year will be an “availability” question in the survey (as
outlined in “PPMA Hosts CFAA” Article on Pg. 2), which was first utilized in
last year's survey in 4 select CMAs. CMHC defines availability as “suite that is
occupied or unoccupied and is available for rent.”
As always, when a CMHC enumerator contacts you in October, the PPMA encourages
your to please take the time to contribute to this valuable industry standard by
answering the brief telephone survey.
